At the time of our departure, there were only 12 of us on our journey. It was the year 1981.
Back then, the outdoors was all about daring explorers, but we were content to simply open our front door and enjoy ourselves. Furthermore, we wanted everyone else to be out there with us as well.
Regatta UK is an English family-owned outdoor and leisure clothing company based in Manchester, England, that has been in operation since 1981. It is in competition with Karrimor, Peter Storm, and Slazenger, among others.
As a result, we created excellent products that people could afford, clothing that encouraged them to get outside and enjoy the fresh air without worrying about how much it would cost. That is still the most important thing to us.
Moreover, we are continuing to do so. Continue to think of new ways to assist others, continue to be energised by the great outdoors, continue to be available at the front door when you need us.
The same holds true for those who ramble, amble, hike or bike: it is the only thing that matters. Everyone from campers and gardeners to daily commuters, dog walkers, show jumpers, and multi-tasking mums, picnickers and backpackers, kids playing ball, and dads at the footie, urban roamers and beachcombers, puddle-loving children, and everyone else we’ve assisted in embarking on their own adventure.

The footwear known as hiking or walking boots is specifically designed to protect the feet and ankles during outdoor walking activities such as hiking and walking trails. They are one of the most important pieces of hiking equipment because the quality and durability of a hiker’s boots can determine his or her ability to walk long distances without injury. Hiking boots are designed to provide comfort while walking for long distances over difficult terrain in a single day. Hiking boots that provide protection for the hiker’s feet and heels are highly recommended. Hiking boots provide ankle support and are moderately stiff in construction. A less popular alternative is to wear light trainers with thin soles, which are more comfortable. In order to avoid blisters and sore feet, it is important that footwear is neither too loose nor too tight. Hiking socks that wick away sweat from the feet, keep feet warm, and cushion the feet are recommended, and a thin inner sock may also be beneficial in some cases. In addition to being designed for hiking, most hiking boots are also made for other outdoor activities such as backpacking, climbing, mountaineering, and hunting.
In comparison to mid-cut boots, low-cut shoes are typically more lightweight and minimalistic, making them more popular for shorter hikes on well-maintained trails. As well as more formal settings, such as backyard barbecues and local sporting events, low-cut shoes are appropriate for more casual occasions.
As a result, walking boots provide significantly more ankle support, often going over the ankle, and are typically thicker, which can help protect the ankle from twisting and bending as well as cuts, scrapes, and knocks.

All walking boots are water-resistant to some extent, though some will be significantly more waterproof than others, so it is important to check this before you go out walking. Walking boots made of leather are generally considered to be the most waterproof and durable, with suede and other fabrics coming in close second. However, there are exceptions.
If your feet are wet, you may not be aware that they are more susceptible to developing blisters. This is due to the fact that running or walking causes your skin to become softer and more susceptible to rubbing and abrasions. Waterproof shoes keep water out of your shoes, allowing you to keep your feet dry and comfortable throughout the day.
But only because it actually repels water does the Goretex product outperform the competition. After a while, the “waterproof” boot’s waterproofing properties begin to deteriorate, but it is otherwise a good boot…. Waterproof shoes, as opposed to water-resistant or water-repellent shoes, keep out all of the water. This is excellent for keeping your feet dry (and, consequently, much warmer!) while walking in the snow.

Mids are footwear with a mid-height or mid-heeled heel – think short boot or high shoe for example. It is about half as high as a “proper” walking boot, which provides some additional support over the ankle when compared to wearing a shoe… Always keep in mind that a boot with fewer panels and less stitching should theoretically last longer.

Mid-calf boots are typically equipped with one or two metal lacing hooks at the ankle. You’ll be able to tighten the laces more efficiently and keep them in place more securely during a challenging hike as a result. In areas where snakes and other venomous creatures lurk, mid boots provide additional skin protection against bites and stings from snakes and other venomous creatures.
Hiking boots should be snug in all the right places, but not too tight in others, and they should allow you to wiggle your toes. Examine them after a long day’s work (when your feet have swollen) and with the socks you intend to wear.
