They’ve been trying to shake things up since they first opened their virtual doors in October of 2016. They’re huge fans of the classic looks that have been around for decades, including retro prints and tailoring. They draw creativity from fond memories, updating classic details for today’s casual wear. Even their name honours a classic figure from the past. When you find a style from their collection that you absolutely adore, it’s like finding a precious diamond that fits you perfectly, requires minimal maintenance, and will be appreciated for years to come. As a company run by women, they’ve made it their mission to support fashion-forward ladies who aren’t afraid to express themselves via the clothes they wear. What you wear is something they’ve designed specifically for you. They are fiercely autonomous, committed to producing durable garments, and customer-focused in all that they do. You are the driving force behind their whole creative process, from concept development to customer service to partnership building and content production.

Horrockses Fashions and Joanie have collaborated to create a line of retro-style gowns.
Some of the most recognizable Joanie silhouettes from the past have been reimagined for this exclusive collection, which draws from the extensive Horrockses Fashions archive. They’re pleased to be working with Horrockses, a company whose name has become synonymous with treasures of exceptional quality and age. The collection was inspired by the original tagline of Horrockses, which read, “This year, next year, and always,” and their goal was to create modern heirlooms that would be appreciated and passed down for generations.
Daisies, daisies, they can’t get enough of Carly! This shirtwaister-style midi dress is made from their favorite easy-wear, easy-care fabric LENZINGTM ECOVEROTM viscose and features a forget-me-not print developed by Joyce Badrocke for Horrockses Fashions in the mid-1950s. Carly also has a revere collar, a button-down front, short sleeves, a belt that ties around its own waist, and hip pockets in the style of the 1970s. Once and for all, they’d like to proclaim that Carly is their favorite summer dress.
Natural History Museum X Joanie – Vada Coral Print Sundress

This summer in Vada, they’re keeping it coral. This retro-style sundress is made from stretchy, organic cotton barkcloth printed all over with a deep sea print in pink tones, inspired by William Saville-Kent’s 19th-century drawings of the Great Barrier Reef. The Vada dress is their new o-fish-ally favorite summer garment because of its flattering scoop neckline, practical front button-through fastenings with Corozo buttons, flattering knee-length skirt, and hip pockets.
The artworks in William Saville-Kent’s book The Great Barrier Reef of Australia served as inspiration for the illustrations in this print. Although little was known about the biology of the Great Barrier Reef at the time, the English marine biologist and novelist Saville-Kent (1845-1908) relocated to Australia and began collecting, drawing, and painting its magnificent corals.

Albertine Bloomsbury Print Floral Midaxi Dress
Albertine is back, and this time she’s wearing a brand-new antique floral design that they are totally head over heels for. Albertine is made out of a heavyweight unlined LENZINGTM ECOVEROTM viscose fabric and boasts an all-over abstract flower pattern that is reminiscent of the 1920s. This pattern was inspired by the iconic homes that were designed by members of the Bloomsbury Group. Whenever they put on Albertine, no matter what the event is, they’ll be experiencing the color blue in the most positive way imaginable.
